How to Use AI to Your Advantage as a REALTOR®

Artificial Intelligence (AI) can be a concerning subject for some, and reasonably so. Those who don’t know much about AI tend to be afraid of its dangers – like the possibility of the technology becoming so advanced that it can automate any task to the point that companies will no longer have to hire employees to complete work – and that is a completely understandable fear.

“AI will take your job – but to the next level,” says the National Association of REALTORS® (NAR). NAR suggests that REALTORS should use AI as a tool to make their jobs easier, rather than view it as something to be afraid of. Agents often find themselves struggling with having an overwhelming number of tasks, working with multiple clients at once on listing and buying properties, managing contracts, and trying to create online content to grow their network. Each of these tasks, and more, can be made easier for real estate professionals with the use of AI.

Generating Well-Crafted Descriptions

Utilizing AI for listing a home can be a game changer when it comes to marketing the property to buyers. “A well-crafted description can complement the virtual presentation by adding depth and context that pictures alone might sometimes miss. With generative AI, however, writing such descriptions becomes easier and significantly more effective. Plus, it’s done instantly, as AI needs only milliseconds to write such descriptions,” according to NAR. This can help a once time-consuming and sometimes annoying task become quick and easy, and make your listing look more appealing to potential buyers.

Creating Top-tier Images

Additionally, when it comes to showing off a property, the images that are posted are the first impression of a property to a buyer who is searching the internet for their future home. It is crucial that each area of the house is presented well, whether that is done through the staging of the home, showing off the space available in the home by removing furniture, or just overall improving the quality and clarity of the images shown.

“AI can virtually stage a photo of a vacant space in 30 seconds for as low as $0.03 per photo,” according to NAR. There are multiple AI platforms that specialize in home images that REALTORS can use to stage photos of homes, remove unwanted furniture, and enhance the images.

Marketing Yourself as an Agent

AI can also be the key to putting your best foot forward on the internet for potential clients. Florida Realtors (FR) suggests that agents use AI to whip up an alluring biography to give clients a good first impression and hopefully bring in more business.

Having well-made video content that looks good on your website and social media pages is vital to building your brand as a REALTOR. Video has become a key tool for learning and purchasing decisions, and social media platforms have emphasized its importance in capturing and retaining user attention.

Using AI can be the perfect way to create content that is both easily digested by potential clients, and interesting at the same time. “One of the challenges agents cite for not using video is genuine: It is time-consuming to create versus other marketing tools. However, the emergence of artificial intelligence to make the creation of video easier is changing things,” according to Florida Realtors. They even suggest several specific AI sites that can be used for assistance in marketing.

Automating Tasks

AI has the ability to automate day-to-day tasks that you may have on your plate as a REALTOR as well, to save you some time in your busy schedule. According to Florida Realtors, “Artificial intelligence can help real estate professionals streamline workflows and become more efficient by automating repetitive daily tasks, such as booking showings, creating client lists, making calls and answering emails.” These aren’t all of the tasks that AI can check off of your to-do list, though. AI can also automate duties like collection of rent for property managers, setting up meetings, and making appointments.
