How To Join

Thank you for your interest in joining the Northeast Florida Association of Realtors (NEFAR). 

  1. Review the membership types below to determine which applies to you.
  2. Download the respective application packet for your membership type.
  3. Once completed, email the signed application to Membership@nefar.com

REALTOR Membership Types

Primary Realtor Member

Broker

You may join NEFAR as a Broker if all the following apply:

You may join NEFAR as a Sales Associate or Broker Sales if all the following apply:

The application packets include everything you need to join NEFAR and/or realMLS, including the required forms and dues information.

Real Estate License type

Broker – To become a real estate broker in Florida, you must first have experience as an active Florida sales associate for at least 24 months or hold a valid real estate license for at least 24 months in any other jurisdiction of the United States. Brokers can operate independently or have sales associates work for them. A broker can list and show properties just like a sales associate, but a sales associate cannot perform the duties of a broker.

Sales Associate/Broker Sales – A licensed real estate professional authorized to list properties, conduct sales transactions, and represent either buyers or sellers, earning commissions in the process. A sales associate must always work under the direction of a real estate broker in Florida.

How To Renew

On December 1 an invoice for the upcoming year is posted to all current Realtor members’ account. The invoice is due on or before January 1.

Primary Member

  • December 15 – The first reminder notice will be sent to each member who has not paid their dues.
  • December 31 – A final reminder notice will be sent to each member who has not paid their dues.
  • January 11 – All member services (access to MLS and eKEY service) will be terminated and a $25 late fee will be added to each member’s account with an outstanding dues balance.
  • February 1 – A reinstatement fee of $150 will be required to reinstate the member’s account.
  • March 1 – A reinstatement fee of $250 will be required to reinstate the member’s account.
  • April 1 – A reinstatement fee of $250 plus a $30 FR Processing fee will be required to reinstate the member’s account.

Secondary Member

  • December 15 – The first reminder notice will be sent to each member who has not paid their dues.
  • December 31 – A final reminder notice will be sent to each member who has not paid their dues.
  • January 11 – All member services (access to MLS) will be terminated. To reactivate your membership you will need to send an email to membership@nefar.com

FAQ's

If you have a real estate license, such as a Sales Associate or Broker Sales, and you place your license under a broker who is a member of a Realtor Association, then yes, you must join the Realtor Association. Or you may place your license under a broker who is not a member of a Realtor Association.

No, you can choose to belong to any of the Realtor Associations that your broker belongs to.

Yes, and if your broker is a member of several different Realtor Associations or MLSs’, you may choose which Association and MLS you wish to join.

  1. You will receive and email from the NEFAR membership staff stating that we have received and are processing the application.
  2. Once your member record has been created you will receive an email from the NEFAR membership staff with information on how to log into your NEFAR member account to pay your dues.
  3. Once your payment is made the NEFAR membership staff will send you a welcome email important information which you should save for future reference. They will also send your MLS application to realMLS. They will process your application within 24 hours and once your MLS dues are paid you will have full access to login to FlexMLS.
  4. Education will also send a link for you to complete the new member orientation which is a requirement of NEFAR membership and must be completed within 90 days. This email can take up to 48 hours to receive. You must follow the steps in the email to register.

Yes, there is the option to add a digital signature or after you have completed the application, you can print out the document, sign and scan to include in email to membership@nefar.com
