The Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS shares with great sadness the passing of Paula Jean Givler, 54, of Jacksonville Beach, Florida, on April 2nd. Paula was a deeply valued member of the NEFAR family whose presence, leadership, and dedication left a lasting mark on our association and the broader real estate community.
Paula was a longtime and highly engaged member of NEFAR, serving as chair of the Beaches Area Council, where she fostered connection, collaboration, and meaningful involvement among members. She dedicated three years of service to the MLS Board and most recently served as Chair of the Property Management Committee. Paula was also an active investor in RPAC, consistently advocating for the real estate profession and supporting the future of the industry. Her commitment to NEFAR was evident in everything she did. She showed up, stepped up, and worked to make the association stronger for everyone.
Her leadership extended beyond NEFAR through her service as President of the Women’s Council of REALTORS in 2019 and as a District Vice President. In every role, Paula was known for bringing people together and creating a sense of community. She built genuine relationships, mentored others, and made every member feel welcome and valued.
Paula is survived by her beloved daughter, Tamara, as well as her siblings Jody, Craig, Mark, and Peter, along with extended family members and many friends. Outside of her professional commitments, Paula enjoyed spending time outdoors, especially near the water. She took part in paddle boarding, walked the beach regularly with her dog Luna, and stayed active in the community. She was a member of the Hurricanes Dragon Boat team, participated in local 5K events, and supported organizations such as Best Buddies and area pet initiatives. She was often present at industry and social gatherings, contributing to the strong sense of community that defines NEFAR.
The impact Paula made through NEFAR and beyond will not be forgotten. Her time, leadership, and dedication helped shape the experience of many members, and her contributions will continue to resonate. A celebration of Paula’s life will be held on May 2nd from 2:00 to 6:00 PM at The Moorings. All who knew and loved her are welcome to attend and honor her life. Additionally, a Celebration of Life will be held at the NEFAR resource Center on May 1st from 11am – 2pm. Click here to RSVP.
