Join NEFAR in Cleaning Up Northeast Florida Waters

The Northeast Florida Association of REALTORS (NEFAR) invites you to take part in the Clean Up Northeast Florida Waters event, a local effort as a part of the larger Florida Realtors’ Clean Up Florida Waters Initiative. This collaborative project brings REALTORS and community members together to clean local waterways by removing litter and debris that threaten our environment and wildlife. Every bag of trash collected helps restore and protect our natural ecosystems.

On July 12, volunteers will gather from 8am to 11am at Crystal Cove Marina and RV Resort in Palatka. Additional cleanup locations include boat ramps at Lake Santa Fe, Lake Brooklyn, Lake Geneva, and Rodman Dam. A post-cleanup party will follow from 11am to noon at Crystal Cove Marina.

On July 19, the main event takes place from 9am to noon across Duval, Clay, and St. Johns counties. Sites include Black Creek Bridge in Clay County and several boat ramps and parks in Jacksonville, such as the Lion’s Club Boat Ramp in Arlington, North Riverwalk, Wayne B Stevens Ramp in Ortega, Bert Maxwell Ramp on the Northside, and Helen Cooper Floyd Park in Mayport. An after party will be held from noon to 1pm at the NEFAR Resource Center.

This year’s goal is to remove 10,000 pounds of trash from local waterways. By participating, volunteers make a real difference in the health of Northeast Florida’s rivers, lakes, and coastal areas. This is a great opportunity to contribute to your community, get community service hours, enjoy time outdoors, and connect with other community members.

To register, visit the NEFAR website and select your preferred cleanup date and location. For more information, contact Roland Navarro at RNavarro@nefar.com. Help make a lasting impact on the environment and join NEFAR this July! Together, we can create cleaner, healthier waterways.
