NEFAR’s Southwest Area Council brought members together on Aug. 27 for the SW All About Clay Lunch & Tradeshow at the Courtyard by Marriott in Orange Park. The event welcomed 81 attendees for an afternoon of networking, lunch, informative presentations and opportunities to connect with Southwest Area Council sponsors and local community leaders.
The event kicked off with a tradeshow, giving attendees the opportunity to meet with annual sponsors, make connections and learn about resources that could benefit their businesses and clients. Guests then enjoyed a lunch of sandwiches and salad provided by the hotel before gathering for presentations from three local leaders.
Clay County Sheriff Michelle Cook shared information about changes and developments within the Clay County Sheriff’s Office. Supervisor of Elections Chris Chambless discussed upcoming amendments that will appear on the ballot this fall, while District 1 Commissioner John Sgromolo provided insights as part of the event’s lineup of local leaders. Each presentation was followed by an opportunity for attendees to ask questions and engage with the speakers.
Giveaways from SW annual sponsors added to the fun throughout the event, including a raffle for a large television. Proceeds from the raffle benefited Operation Santa Cause, allowing attendees to support a local cause while participating in the event.
The annual event also provided an opportunity to welcome potential new Southwest Area Council affiliates for 2027. Organizers noted the strong turnout and the many connections made throughout the afternoon, with prospective affiliates expressing enthusiasm about becoming involved next year.
The SW All About Clay Lunch & Tradeshow continued the Southwest Area Council’s tradition of bringing members, sponsors and community leaders together for valuable connections and conversations. Members can look forward to the SW Fall Golf Tournament on Oct. 15 as the council’s next major event.
