NEFAR Realtor Party Champions

Members of NEFAR’s Candidate Screening Task Force meet during each election cycle to interview candidates seeking local public office throughout Northeast Florida. Led by the Task Force Chair and Vice Chair, the group meets with candidates to learn more about their views on issues that affect real estate professionals, property owners and the communities NEFAR serves. Topics may include affordable housing, zoning and land use, private property rights, rental policies, taxation, infrastructure and responsible growth.

In addition to conducting personal interviews, the Task Force reviews candidates’ written responses to a preliminary questionnaire, their qualifications and their campaigns’ overall viability. Based on this review, the Task Force determines which candidates, if any, should be recommended for NEFAR’s support. Those recommendations are then presented to the NEFAR Board of Directors for final approval.

Incumbent candidates may also be considered for endorsement based on their voting records, accessibility and continued support of issues important to the real estate industry and private property owners. Additional candidates may be interviewed later in the election cycle as races advance through the primary and general election process.
