Broker – To become a real estate broker in Florida, you must first have experience as an active Florida sales associate for at least 24 months or hold a valid real estate license for at least 24 months in any other jurisdiction of the United States. Brokers can operate independently or have sales associates work for them. A broker can list and show properties just like a sales associate, but a sales associate cannot perform the duties of a broker.
Sales Associate/Broker Sales – A licensed real estate professional authorized to list properties, conduct sales transactions, and represent either buyers or sellers, earning commissions in the process. A sales associate must always work under the direction of a real estate broker in Florida.
If you have a real estate license, such as a Sales Associate or Broker Sales, and you place your license under a broker who is a member of a Realtor Association, then yes, you must join the Realtor Association. Or you may place your license under a broker who is not a member of a Realtor Association.
No, you can choose to belong to any of the Realtor Associations that your broker belongs to.
Yes, and if your broker is a member of several different Realtor Associations or MLSs’, you may choose which Association and MLS you wish to join.

Yes, there is the option to add a digital signature or after you have completed the application, you can print out the document, sign and scan to include in email to membership@nefar.com
Make sure you fill in the previous Association Name and state.

If you are not renewing and want to cancel your NEFAR membership, you must submit a notice to NEFAR Compliance Administrator Angela Meeks at NEFARCompliance@NEFAR.com before Dec. 31.
This written notice must state you are canceling your membership and you understand that all services for you, your firm and its licensees will be suspended immediately upon receipt of your request. Once the cancellation is processed, an emailed notice will be sent to your firm’s licensees providing options for reinstatement with NEFAR and realMLS.
